URBAN LEGENDS

Urban legend is a type of legend told as a factual incident that happen to someone
known by the teller, and often passed on through media such as newspapers, television,
movies etc. It is a story that probably started with the truth, but has ended or details that
tell lies. It can also be a story that is completely false and mysterious. This contains
elements of humor and horror. Urban legends can go on for years and decades. Like
many of them we have now, are from way back before we were born. So as time goes by
we still have old urban legends and new ones to. In this section I will be taking about
urban legends. Many urban legends come from long ago. Some people also make up
urban legends through bloggers. Many of them are false information and false stories.
People with no-lives sometimes just write things to scare people. I think that’s why our
community is so branched out and have so many racial problems, because of little jokes
that are said in the media. People get paranoid, shock, and etc. Jokes that are racial attend
to scare people the most. Like, calling Caucasian and blacks nicknames in the urban
legends. This gets a lot of confusion and everything started. I think this is why Barack
Obama had a horrible time getting president, because of urban legends.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been an urban legend for many years. Many of people still today think that he is really real. It’s about a little boy who had an unfinished face and the kids made fun of. Then when he got older he began a killing spree. He started chasing everybody that came near his territory. Even his family mother and father helped kill and get people. He was like an doctor, but an evil one. He did experiments on the bodies that he caught. He did cruel things like cutting off severe body parts.

Jeepers Creepers is also known to be a false urban legend. In this story there was a man/demon that did not have a complete body. He ate the skin and body parts off of people bodies. When he did he became more human like. He began to form eyes, legs, and many other things. He took body parts off of man/woman. So when he had a complete body he looked deformed. He got killed in the movie from burning up. Although it is told that he survived and that he still is roaming the earth as a human.

Another urban legend is “The Honey Moon”. It is told when newly weds get married and go on a honey moon strange things happen. Especially, when you’re visiting Las Vegas. They said one time their was an couple living in a suite and they smelled funny things. Every time they checked they smelled the same odor. So when the janitors cleaned the room with the finest and most expensive fabrics, the newly weds still smelled the same odor. So the husband decided to look for himself and we he pulled up the mattress he found a dead woman’s body.

In conclusion, urban legends are still standing strong. There are many urban legends new and old that are being used everyday.

Media Analysis is a very interesting class. I really enjoy the class very much in many reasons. First, this class gives you many tips on everyday life. It teaches you not to do anything you see on television and other things. Such as, media violence etc. This means in tv, video games, advertisements and etc. The name is really self explanatory. Sometimes we watch video clips and things of that matter. Somethings that come on the screen can be offensive and disturbing also. Like one time there was a killing at Henry Ford High School in Dtroit, Mi and it was shown in class. It was discussed in class, two of my friends had gotten shot, but one had died. Overall, this is a very good course that i think every student can take, no matter the grade.
